Vietnam Cashew exports over $ 1 billion in the first 7 months


Vietnam Customs said cashew exports reached $ 1.2 billion in the first 7 months of 2014, up 17.5% compared to the same period last year
Trade Information Center (VITIC) under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Vietnam cited statistics of Vietnam Customs said the country exported 158,000 tonnes of cashew nuts in about seven months, up 15.7% compared with the same period last year.


United States, China and the Netherlands are still three largest markets of Vietnam cashew nuts in this period, accounting for 31.19%, 16.3% and 11.09% of total exports, respectively.


Vietnam is ranked third in the world in the list of the largest exporters of cashew nuts, after India and the Ivory Coast. Previously, the Vietnam Cashew Association forecast to reach 1.8 billion dollars from exporting 180,000 tons in 2014.
